Thanks Blake and Thomas. I came to this site just as a means of communicating my situation. For months, I've been told this is prostatitis. I believe with these two issues (prostatitis and epididymitis), you need to do your own research and keep in touch with your doctors and urologist. The only pain that frustrates me is my testicular pain. It burns on the right side and radiates all the way down my leg. As a result of this, I feel my nerves down there are shot.
I feel that pleasure is now foreign to my right testicle. My left one still has some good feeling in it though which gives me some hope. I'm not rushing to get the testicle taken out. I'm just trying to explore this option is all. I'd rather have one of the testes and epi cords taken out as opposed to my prostate itself. I'm only going to go through with the surgery if my urologist finds good evidence that this isn't brought on by my prostate. So far, he thinks my prostate isn't the issue. Tomorrow I'm getting a pelvic and abdominal CT Scan done so maybe that will show something. I'll keep in touch gentlemen. Let me know how you're all doing. Don't get discouraged Thomas, I know it's hard but you never know what waits ahead for us.
Taking out the epididymus wor…tag:prostatitis.ning.com,2013-07-02:2201951:Comment:419422013-07-02T23:08:15.377ZThomas Roderthttp://prostatitis.ning.com/profile/ThomasRodert

Taking out the epididymus works for a few people, but not a high number. Same with taking out the testicle. As I posted above, check out microsurgical denervation of the spermatic cord. The results for this are much more impressive. I also suffer from testicle pain and that's why I researched this option. However, I didn't go ahead as I now believe that my testicle pain comes from my prostate, so denervation probably won't work for me. Removal of the prostate might, which is why I came to…

Unfortunately, this site seems to have abandoned its original motivation - to do research on prostatectomy for chronic prostatitis. For some reason, Dr Krongrad seems to have given up the research. As I can't find out why, it's very discouraging to me.
Thanks Thomas, I'll look into…tag:prostatitis.ning.com,2013-06-22:2201951:Comment:413712013-06-22T05:46:59.550ZTrevor McIsaachttp://prostatitis.ning.com/profile/TrevorMcIsaac

Thanks Thomas, I'll look into it. Blake, I recommend you get better health care. It sounds like your dealing with an ignoratn emerge doctor. My family doctor is well aware that my urine and such is clear. She also knows I am no hypochondriac as she has been my doctor for 10 years and made the comment last year "I'm surprised that I've been your family doctor for so long and have only heard from no more than once a year." She knows this is serious and the urologists I've dealt with know it…

She knows this is serious and the urologists I've dealt with know it too. At my last consultation, my urologist acknowledged that I needed Prozac to deal with this and that he thinks if I still want the testicle out in two years time after we've tried everything, he's willing to go ahead.
No, it's not injections in yo…tag:prostatitis.ning.com,2013-06-18:2201951:Comment:410302013-06-18T04:49:24.277ZThomas Roderthttp://prostatitis.ning.com/profile/ThomasRodert

No, it's not injections in your groin. It's where they cut the nerves in your spermatic cord. This means the pain signals from your testicle or epididymus are cut off. It usually preserves the spermatic cord itself and thus doesn't interfere with your production and ejaculation of sperm, which means you can still have children if you want. Google it.

Is that the nerve injections inserted in your groin? If so, my doctor has also suggested those. My appointment Friday, we're going to make a careful plan and strict regime. They're suggesting that removal of the testicle or epdidymis will only be done after we've tried next to everything so don't worry, I won't be doing anything too hostile until I'm sure it's the only option.

Before you think about removing your testicle, you might check out microsurgical denervation of the spermatic cord. It's a relatively simple procedure and seems to be really effective for many guys.
