A report came across my desk by pure accident: a man in the U.S. had his pancreas removed for severe, chronic pain. This was done after he failed numerous otehr treatments. One wonders if his pancreatic pain has causes in common with the pain of prostatitis.

A new study involving relatively young Korean men with Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS) found that treatment with alpha-blocker and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor improved semen quality. The authors assert that CPPS presents a barrier to fertility in Korean men and that treating it with the methods described may help them to come to natural conception.
