Acute and chronic prostatitis discussion. Arnon Krongrad, MD, moderator.

Dr Arnon & Eden, what pre-operative tests would currently be used before comitting to LRP?

What tests would be essential to perform, to be as sure as one can be that removing the prostate will solve the problem? For example, which tests did David Radford have pre-surgery to be as sure as possible that it was the right thing to do? Those tests obviously worked for him.

Chris said "I don't think any tests are carried out prior to LRP surgery", after his visit to Mr Eden. This is great news because all who have had it done now are pain free. I am assuming they did not have every test under the sun, to determine whether it was the prostate or a pelvic floor problem. The fact that they are all pain free now just further reinforces my belief that this is a prostate problem/infection-especially when you have a lot of calcification.
