Antibiotic advice

I just came off of a twenty two day antibiotic treatment for bacterial prostatitis, which involved taking Zithromax, Levaquin and Sulfatrim . I was supposed to be on these antibiotics for 60 days, but I became very sick due to the side effects and had to stop. My prostatitis showed signs of improvement, so I would like to try this again. Are there any antibiotics that I can take for this that are not in the family of the three drugs I mentioned, that are as effective, but will not cause the same kind of violent reaction? I remember taking amoxicillin as a kid and never having any reactions at all, so I can take antibiotics, but finding some choices other than the ones I mentioned is proving to be difficult. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    I would suggest you to stay away from the prostate injection...at best it would improve temporary your condition but it can also make it much worse...this is exactly my experience: I did one of those injection and it took me one full year to recover to where I was before.
    Moreover after the injection ecoli starts to show up (urine culture after prostate massage), before the injection I was always negative....honnestly this injection treatment is not a cure.
    As suphanta said, you better think of IV antibiotics, at least if it doesnt work it would not harm your prostate...this has worked for me so far, the only thing is that after all these antibiotics treatment the bacteria might become resistant ( this is my case).
    I fully agree with you about the structural abnormality, in my particular case a bladder neck sclerosis seems to be a possible cause.

    Thanks jeffos, I was only relating to things I have read, definitely not endorsing it.  The posts I have read concerning it were favorable from a doctor "Duke" Bahn, who does it in Ventura, California.  There are all kinds disclaimers, and saying you should only do it as a last resort.
