If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.: 40 years old. has symptoms for approx 6 months. Started out after some nasty athlete's foot and then the symptoms started. Mostly my symptoms are sensitivity in between rectum and testicles, rectal discomfort and aggravation in head of penis (increased urgency, stinging) Had a 7 day period of Cipro and some of the symptoms subsided. Symptoms returned and had a 10 day course of Cipro (little to no change) a 14-20 day run with Levaquin (little to no change also two of these prescriptions were spelled with 3 days of Diflucan because I am/was convinced yeast has something to do with my prostatitis. Present;y, starting to take some probiotics with a 21 day anti-biotic, Apo sulfatrim.......I am in decent shape but have had a history of poor diet with a love for chocolate and fried foods- obviously not helpful. Otherwise I work out and have never smoked.
