Developed prostatitis in September 2009. Went on Cipro for 14 days, all symptoms cleared until another big flare up in January 2010. Another 14 day round of Cipro, another 4 weeks without symptoms. In February 2010 I started having flare ups come and go every few days. On bad flare up days, my Symptom Index score was in the high 20's to low 30's. On days without flare ups I was still around 5-10, mainly due to anxiety about my next flare up.
In December 2010 I started taking AllicinMax, which was suggested on a now defunct prostatitis forum. I take 3 AllicinMax pills and 2 Saw Palmetto pills every day, and am symptom free 90% of the time. The 10% of the time I do have symptoms, they are mild and very manageable. I also credit the AllicinMax for helping to lower my blood pressure (which was slightly high before taking it) and strengthening my immune system. This is the only winter I can recall where I didn't catch a single cold.
