Hello imnotcrazy, I am doing fantastic. My urine leakage after surgery has subsided tremendiously but my spontaneous erection is not yet back. My energy is back and no more debilitating pain. I am very much around. I have not disappeared, just working, working.

Hi Imnotcrazy, thank you for your message, prayers and understanding..i really appreciate it..
im glad that you are getting the good help that you deserve from dr bahn..
you're right - nobody deserves this kind of treatment but i think it comes down to the system rather than the doctor, although there may be 2 shonks in chicago that i now know need to be avoided at all costs.. thanks for the heads up... the hard part is, things such as leaking down your pants after thinking u have finished urintaing or the head rushes you get when the pain comes on strong or the inability to sit down properly is just something that i dont want to go around telling people...especially on a date :)

i also came across quite an interesting theory from 2 proffessors at stamford university.. its known as the wise - anderson protocol which deals with our reactions to stressful situations ie..we have the choice to either to fight , flight ( walk away) or freeze.. the theory works on the notion that freezing is where the problem may lie in non bacterial prostatitis - we tend to tense up in the genital area in times of stress..prolonged tensing in the prostate area could play a role in non bacterial prostatitis... interesting stuff.. im still not quite sure what i have yet - there have been subtle hints of cancer but from what i understand with a psa of 1.6, its highly unlikely, but i will be sure to let you know and i really look forward to hearing about your progress..

its really encouraging to see what other men have to say on this website and am grateful to you Dr. Krongrad for sharing your time and expertise..

    God bless

    Hi Im not crazy..
Here are some natural remedies that my naturopath has given me.. She is not the type of person that works against doctors and has given me these supplements to synergise with any medication that i am or have taken.. Evry case is different so Im not implying that you should follow my intake, but it would be good if you went and saw a naturopath also - one that will work with your doctor, not against him or her as this will create even more confusion..

Here goes : ( 2 of the objectives in my case, are to alkaline the body as there is a high level of acid and to soften the stools as the bowel can place pressure on the prostate and when enlarged, the pain is what you and many of us have experienced)

    - 2 tables spoons of barley grass, 1 teaspoon of magnesium, oxygen donor in one drink, 5 x per day ( before meals)
    - 1500mgs of fish oil taken over the day
    - 1000mgs vitamin c
    - 2 x intesteclear tablets
    - liquid chlorfyl x 2 per day
    - 1 x pro biotic
    - 4 drops of liquid selenium ( be careful as high doses are toxic)
    - fibre supplements x 2 per day
    - prostate supplements that include saw palmetto and zinc x 2 per day
    - 2 x ginko brahmi tablets per day.

Changes to diet include no alcohol whatsoever, rice milk instead of dairy, no wheat, sugar or anything fried, minimal caffein if any, lots of green vegetables, minimal red meat/ fish, brown rice, 2 - 3 litres of water per day, green tea, no citrus fruits at all and at least 8 hours of sleep per night..

She also recommended some yoga excercises, to take deep breaths when the pain comes on and to breath into the painful area..

I have also been for colonic hydrotherapy which helped.. It's not fun but felt great afterwards..

It's also important to learn how to deal with stress in a more effective way.. I noticed that whenever i came across a tough situation, i would get a flair up, thus am now learning to be cool, calm and collected -even laugh in the face of danger..it hasnt been easy as i am a hot head and when the pain comes on, the head rushes drive me insane, but taking a more relaxed approach to life has also helped..

The power of prayer is also something that has been very helpful as I know that God hears, listens and understands..

I must admit, that although i hate this illness with a passion, it is the best thing that could have happened to me in in the sense that, it has put my life into perspective and made me re assess what is really important..

Im really grateful to be in this group.. I hope we can all get healed asap..
    God bless.
