"Yes, urinary frequency is very  boring thing. it could be caused by inflammation, or, some other reason, like self-abuse, or etc. first you should define which  reason causes that symptom."

"Rob,   Pain is a hallmark of prostatitis, which can be also associated with urinary, sexual, and generalized symptoms, e.g. fatigue.   Frequency may be associated with prostatitis. However, frequency is pretty nonspecific. When…"

Urinary Frequency...

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if pain is always the primary symptom of CP? I do have pain around my lower back - but my major symptom is urinary frequency which distresses me much more than the pain does. Any info would be great Thanks a lotRobSee More

Profile Information

If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
I have not yet been diagnosed. I was returning from several weeks travelling a few months back when I started to develop urinary frequency on the plane back to London. After a day or two I also developed pain in my lower back. Several urine tests and scans later and everything has come back normal. Now my symptoms have expanded to include a continuous discomfort in my lower abdomen, and just recently a kind of burning throughout my pelvis.

The anxiety is getting to me massively. Prior to this I was very active...travelling the world and working in a fast-paced job.

Urologist appointment is scheduled.

Hi Dr Krongrad,

I haven't been diagnosed yet - I'm currently in the long wait that is the NHS system here in the UK. But my symptoms are very similar to what I am reading here on this site. I've joined because of the sheer frustration that my doctors don't know what is wrong....have had several urine cultures, all negative...xray and ultrasound which were totally fine. And now I am booked in for a CT Scan. I have been given Oxybutynin for the frequency - which occurs quite severely at night - but doesn't seem to be doing anything.
