If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
I am a 55 year old retired carpenter. About 4 months ago had some back pain, went to my doc, got muscle relaxers & naproxen for 2 weeks no help.Still having pelvic & back pain was also having trouble urinating. My PC sent me to an Urologist who did a rectal exam & diagnosed Prostatitus. He tried 3 different antibiotics, ibuprofen, flomax etc. I had an ultrasound on my kidney & bladder which was normal & a ct-urogram, normal. .I'm not on any of that now but take suppliments (Prosta Q,Saw palmetto, goldenseal, occasionally ibuprofen. Was in great shape before this, very active. Now very depressed, can't hardly do anything, cry alot, constant pain when Iget up & move, feels best to lay down. This has many people who count on me very upset including me. My urologist said "see you in 3 months" I hope & pray it subsides & would welcome any input.
Finally filled out the CPSI sheet and figured I was at 26 or so. Saw a hernia surgeon today because of a small inguinal hernia on my left side that I've had for at least 7 years or longer without much pain to it and gonna have it taken care of next friday using the mesh. He does not think it has anything to do with my CP-CPPS. My fantastic wife read some and things and thinks I should get it fixed as does my PC. I figure since my life is in ruins, gonna do it. I can hardly function with my score at 26 can't imagine it being higher and pray for all prostatitis sufferers. Any comment would be appreciated. Also saw a physiatrist who prescribed PT for me but I put that on hold.

Hi Jacob, Did you problem start with an injury or funny movement? Has anyone suggested that pelvic pain is referred from the spine?

Jacob, you may want to read some of the articles linked on the right. You can discuss them with your PC if you want.
