I am a 27 year old male. I have had symptoms for about 8 months now. I have been treated with multiple courses of antibiotics and alpha blockers. the antibiotics have not work and the alpha blockers have not work. I feel I don't need alpha blockers because my prostatitis is not affecting my urination at all. I have seen 4 doctors. the first two were the one that treated me the most and the other two doctors just gave me a DRE test and refered me somewhere else. I dont know if I should consider surgery at this point.

hi, Ariel. this is mike. listen i feel your pain. I have been dealing with chronic prostatitis for about

5 years. you need to see a doctor that specializes in prostate health. i happen to have a good one, in

nyc. i have also thought about flying to california in the future, if the treatment i am getting doesnt work. there is a doctor in california, whose name is doctor Duke Bahn. he gives the injections for people suffering with prostate infections. But never think about removing your prostate. your still to young.write back

Thanks for writing back Mike. I am about to hit a year of dealing with this condition. I am trying to see Doctors who specialize in this condition not just any Urologist. I wasted my time with about 4 doctors now. My last two told to go see a Doctor by the name of Michel Pontari in Temple University in Florida. He seems to be very knowledgeble about the condition and is one of his main interest. I am seeing him next month and hope I can get find some resolution. If you know of any Doctors around my Area who are true specialist treating this condition please let me know because I am tired of going to local urologists who seems know nothing more than the textbooks definition of the condition. Dr. Bahn sounds like a good idea but the most of the best doctor and places I heard of are in the west coast of the U.S. I want to know where are the Docs in the Northeast who possess substantial amount of knowledge and are having sucess treating this condition. Again, thanks for your reply and hope to hear from you soon
