"HI  Brian, have you been to the prostatitis clinic in Tuczon,AZ. I am sure a lot of people would consider that place as an option. It would be good to know, if they are worth a try."

Profile Information

If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
I am 41 years old and was diagnosed with Chronic Prostatitis one year ago. I have always had flare ups in my youth with the first coming at 23 years old, I just did not know what I had at the time. The flare ups would usually last 2-4 weeks (2 months at most) my libido would completely disappear and I would exprerience pain on the left side of my penis and testicles. I went to the doctors at the time and they informed me that they could find nothing wrong and that the loss of libido and sexual dysfunction and pain I was experiencing was probably caused be stress. The fact that these went away after 2-4 weeks and the doctors politely telling me it was all in my head lead me to never go back to the doctors when this condition happened. I just rode it out thinking that in a month everthing would be better.

Last year was different. The pain struck, my libido disappeared and it never came back. I finally went to a urologist who insisited I had prostatits. At least I finally had a name to this condition I was suffering. Before this prostatis flare-up occured I was very heathy and worked out every day. Test results did not allude to any bacterial infection, the prostate seemed healthy, so he put me on Cipro. This did not seem to help. He also put me Androgel for libido eventhough my testosterone was in a normal range. This did not help either and I experienced no change. I was given Cialis to help with the sexual dysfunction and that does help a bit. It does not restore your libido and give you desire to have sex it just makes having an errection easier as it works as a vasodialator making blood flow easier to that region. So here is a summary of symptons and what has been tried:

* Pain on left side of penis and testicles
*A sligh restricted feeling when urinating
* Loss of libido including unable to gain or maintain an errection
* No force behind ejaculate. Elaculate has consistency of water

Items I have been prescribed or tried:

* Cipro - Did nothing for me
* Androgel - Did nothing for me
* Brocolli water treatment
* Quercetin with Bromelain - Seemed to slightly reduce pain but not enough to really make a difference.
*Bland Diet - Seems to keep the pain from getting worse but no notable improvement.
*Every supplement that I read on other prostatis forums

Well, it's been 1 year to date with no relief of pain or symptoms. My days are now spent looking for any information on this condition and trying to get better.
