Spinal cord stimulator operation

Dear All, I decided to have a spinal cord stimulator operation for my chronic pain.  Its 4 weeks post operation and I am doing well.  I certainly have had some pain reduction and sleeping much better at night.  Its still early days and whether the benefits last is still a big question.  I decided to go this way first before I decdided to have the prostate cut out.I still have some swelling and my surgeon believes it will take 3 months to 6 months to get the full benefit. I will keep members of…See More

"I'm aware of patients who've had spine surgery and pain pumps. Not sure I've heard of anyone with a spinal cord stimulator for prostatitis."

Spinal Cord Simulation

I had a TURP when I was 30 and from then on the symptoms started.  I had constant bladder infections and for the last ten years I have had pretty constant chronic prostatitis.  I have been on methadone and now on hydromorphone for the pain.  I have tried botox injected into the pelvis twice.  The first time it reduced my symptoms by a third the second time a month ago it only stirred up my symptoms perhaps its still to early to know.It's been suggested I try spinal chord stimulation.  I…See More

If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
For the last ten years I have had the condition. For the last three years it has been treated with strong opiods fistly methadone and now hydromorophone. Had a number of procedures including (TUNA) trigger point injections, botox in the pelvis. Currently considering spinal cord stimulation.
