If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
about 2.5 years ago I had unprotected sex with a girl, immediately the next day I had this strange burning feeling on the skin of my penus, the sensation was very mild but annoying, if I want to describe it it was like having mint toothpaste rubbed on your penus. the feeling was constant and immediately started the next day, I also lost libido and sexual appetite drastically. I visited a doctor and he diagnosed “possibility” of prostatitis as STD tests and other tests came negative, he prescribed 45 days of cipro (ciprofloxacin). that seemed to reverse the problem and I got my sexual appetite back as the burning went away. During that period, my girlfriend tested herself for STDs and all came negative so we started having sex again (at that moment I thought maybe the whole thing was a skin irritation or just something in my head) but unfortunately the feeling came back and never went away. Since then I have lost my libido almost completely, I was VERY sexually active and sex was very dynamic, when I saw someone I liked, I immediately got aroused! but now it is difficult to become sexually stimulated! I can masterbate and erection is hard and good but it is very difficult to get there, It is like forcing it to work!
I think the reason is the stupid sensation down there! I feel that my penus sensation has changed, before the incident the touch on the penus was associated with good sexual feeling but now it is like rubbing a sun-burned part of your skin, I sometime feel soreness in my penus (the kind of soreness that you have after hour of having sex) and sometimes I don’t feel my gentiles at all it is like there is nothing there! This has become a mental limitation for me also, I keep thinking about it, researching the internet, etc. Last 2 years I kept seeing doctors and they cannot pinpoint the issue, they just prescribe random antibiotics which I’m tired of taking, it is taking a tole on my body! i lost a lot of hair and had a very bad allergy to cipro few months ago, the side effects still haven’t left me completely!
The only thing that makes me not completely freaked out by thinking it is MS or other weird autoimmune disease or nerve damage is that it happened suddenly and because of having sex, so it must be some kind of a bacteria or virus (I hope I’m right about this)
I am not given up hope but at the same time disappointed and frustrated, I’m only 37 and don’t want to live rest of my life without sexual feelings. I have tested my T levels and it was 415 at afternoon so i doubt that is the issue.
