Acute and chronic prostatitis discussion. Arnon Krongrad, MD, moderator.

Dr Kongrad, there is a type of nerve sparing here http://www.henryford.com/body.cfm?id=48836 that claims great results. How easy is it to perform by laparoscopy as opposed to the traditional Walsh method?

Good question. Thank you.

Two reactions:

1) I did open RP for 15 years. I have been doing LRP for 10 years. I have never missed open surgery. Anything I could do open I can do laparoscopically. And better.

2) Erections and their assessment is a very funny business, made all the more funny by the fact that we do not have standardized measures of erections and randomized comparisons of different treatments. Please read Erection Season and let us then revisit this subject if you so wish.
