If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
I am 35 years old. Chronic Prostatitis since 2004. Pain mostly in my left groin and testicle and perineal pain. I don't know what caused my prostatitis, but some months before hell broke loose i had UTI-like symptoms(urge to urinate, but no pain). The doctors could not find any bacteria from the urinalysis, so they prescribe only NSAID that time. After a couple of weeks i started to feel better and the symptoms finaly went away, But after a couple of months the symtoms come back and went away once again. Then after a half a year or so, a january morning in 2004(As you know, Sweden is a cold country, especially in the winter months) the urge to urinate came back but this time i also started to feel discomfort in my left groin and testicle which over the days gradually went over to mild pain and from that gradually over the weeks to strong pain in the area. The doctor i went to diagnosed me with CPPS and prescribe Ciprofloxacin which took away all the UTI symtoms but unfortunately not the pain. I have since then had these terrible pain except for one and a half year in 2011 and 2012 when a was totaly pain free but ufortunately it came back again in summer 2012. I don't know why it went away or why it come back again. Over the years i have try a lot of antibiotics, NSAID, Lyrica, muscle relaxants, prostate massage and many other treatments and medications with little or no effect. Despite tests like PCR and DNA, no bacteria have been found in theese tests, but antibiotics have sometimes help me reducing the symptoms and pain a bit but not allways. Some days i have to use strong painkillers like Codeine and Tramadol to handle the pain. Of course, the pain have a huge negative impact on my life me because it interfere with sleep and quality of life.

I’m sorry for my bad English because this is not my fist language.
