Profile Information

If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
Diagnosed with BPH in 2004 aftter difficulties urinating. Since then many additional symptoms ie pain in right abdomen below ribs, also in Prostate area, kidneys accompanied by very sick feeling, regluar UTI, restricted urination. Biopsy showed no cancer. Many scans, ultra sounds, xrays etc. Prescribed all kinds of antibiotics and also Flomax periodically. Greenlight Lazer procedure in March 2010 and again in March 2012. Symptoms persist and are almost constant with sometimes a break of a few days. Presently in Germany for some months and visited a Urologist ( third by now) who diagnosed BPH and Chronic Bacterial Prostitaitis. Suggest TURP as he does not like Green Lazer. Also overr the years visited three Gastroenorologists as I also experienced stomach issues. Nothing could be found. I now think the symptoms are all related. I get very depressed and if it was not so difficult would have killed myself a few times already. This is a lonely road for me.

Hendrik,

I'm not a doctor, but you sound like someone who could benefit from LRP. If it's come to the point where you feel such despair, what do you have to lose? Many of us have similar feelings, so know that you're not alone in that. Most people, including doctors unfortunately, don't understand the impact this condition has on our lives. Given the success rate of the operation it's definitely an option worth investigating.

Anyway, hang in there and good luck!
