- If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
- 42 years old. Previously very healthy and active, stressful 2011 & 2012 due to marriage breakup.
October 2013: sudden pain/discomfort in lower abdomen, prostate over a weekend. Doctor prescribed a course of Cipro that seemed to work through by mid-late October. I had never heard the word "prostatitis" at this time.
November/December 2013pretty normal with a "feeling" every now and again but wasn't worried. Kept up with Cipro.
January 2014: symptoms escalate through the month until it's pretty bad almost every day. Start to panic a little, missed three days of work in the month, dramatically taper off exercise due to lack of energy/discomfort. Huge concern for the future now.
Family doctor giving me sleep aids and an anti-inflammatory, not effective. Long wait to see a urologist, have appointment in April 2014.
