"Thank you...I scored a 21. I am going to see another doctor today, but I am concerned as nobody seems to help, or know what to do. The heating method is the DOT method. My urologist wants me to do a Cytoscopy to see if I am eligible for a DOT…"

"Hi Doctor, thank you for responding, and providing a great forum. The CPSI opens as a PDF that I cannot edit....I want to submit it, how do others usually submit their results?"

What is your score on the Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (posted on home page)?
21
If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
I have had an inflammed prostate for about 5 months. The first doctor put me on two round of antibiotics, thinking it was bacterial. That did not help, the urologiest told me to take aleve, which I did for 3 month till I could finally get back in to see him...at which point he was fairly dismissive of my life altering irritation which has not improved. I appear to not have an enlarged prostate, but chronically inflammed. Heat helps a bit, but the next step he suggested was to run a tube up my urethra and see if I was eligible for a treatment which involves heating up and destroying the prostate, Which I am concerned about since I do not have an enlarged prostate. I am going to try accupuncture next week, but am very concerned and my life has been seriously affected by this chronic annoyance. Symptons include general aching inside this area...some thime irritation in the penis area and around the very lower back. I do not have pain urinating or with ejaculation, but perhaps sometimes a very little bit of urgancy if I have to go and it is a worse time with the inflamation. It causes a sort of nausea (or add feeling) which eminates up into my stomach, but it is not really your common nausea feeling. I also feel feeverish often, but do not seem to have a fever.

I am aware of no data to support prostate heating for chronic prostatitis.

You may want to glance at some of the stories linked on the Prostatitis Surgery site also.
