- If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
- I'm 31 years old and began feeling mild discomfort in my groin/lower abdomen about a month and a half ago. Soon thereafter the tip of my penis began burning when urinating and I began getting pangs of back pain.
I visited my doctor who told me to wait it out and that it probably wasn't anything severed. My girlfriend had ureaplasma (sp?) at the time so I informed him and he put me on a week of antibiotics. No luck. Nothing changed and the symptoms remained.
He then revered me to a urologist who, after a very quick check (groin, testicles, prostate exam), told me it was probably Prostatitis and put me on a three week course of antibiotics. Right now I have four pills left and have never felt worse. I feel like there's a huge knot in my groin, the left hand side of my abdomen and feel constant burning. I also has issues with feeling like my bladder is never empty, even right after urination.
On top of that it's making my life miserable. I'm usually outgoing and have been nothing but sad and withdrawn for weeks.
