- If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
- I began having symptoms two years ago at age 44. Frequent urination (about 18 times a day). I had a PSA test and results were 2.6 two years ago. My doctor referred me to a urologist who did a biopsy (negative) and cystoscopy (also negative). My PSA continued to rise ( 04/12 PSA 2.8; 12/12 PSA 4.46). Then my PSA began to fall (01/13 3.0; 04/13 1.9). Symptoms also seemed to abate and the doc gave me until January 2014 for follow up. Now....just a few weeks ago I started having bad flare ups of symptoms pain, frequency, bleeding,) Went to the doc and PSA was 17. He put me on antibiotics and two weeks later it was 10.2 then had a reaction to the antibiotics and he took me off of them after two and a half weeks (PSA was down to 7). Went to see uro last week (November 2013) and he scheduled me for another PSA test and CT scan of my abdomin11/25/13.
