Chronic prostatitis, risk of infection to would be wife

I have been suffering from prostatitis over the last 1 year. I have been treated with around 2 weeks each of Levofloxacin, Bactrim, and doxycycline with prostrate massages a few times. My main symptoms have been a general fatigue, a sense of heaviness and inflammation in the penis, testicles, bladder, and prostrate especially after sitting continuously for a long time. On ejaculation, some of the semen does not freely come out. The semen that comes out last is also more viscous. Frequency of…See More

Risk Factors and Causes

In many cases, it's impossible to know why symptoms begin. In others, the causes seem clear. The discussions here will examine factors that mark a higher risk of prostatitis and ask if any of these risk factors actually cause it.See More

If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
Dear sir,

I have been suffering terribly over the last year and desperately need
your advice. I would also like to personally consult you if you could
please share as to where I could approach you in person.

Background
I am a 31 year old male in good health except for the problem
discussed here. I have had 4 sex partners in my life including one
woman who was widely known amongst my peers as being promiscuous. I
must have had vaginal sex about 5 to 6 times always using condoms
without any known accidents.

I had my last sexual act, only unprotected oral sex was performed on
me in June 2oo8 and no sexual acts thereafter till today. In Jan 2o11,
while on a tour in a rural area in west bengal, after spending almost
12 hours through the day in a vehicle, I noticed swelling on the tip
of my penis. It went away after 2 days. About 2 weeks later I got a
sudden pain deep in my left testicle. It intensified rapidly over the
next 3 days so I saw a urologist who declared epididymitis, gave me
some antibiotics asked me to do a urine test which showed higher than
nomal RBCs. The pain got worse over the next week especially making
sitting very painful and travelling very difficult. I saw another
urologist who first ordered a pelvic Doppler ultrasound which came out
clean and then treated me with banocide forte for three weeks. This
treatment didn’t do me much good so I saw an infectious diseases
doctor this time to rule out STDs or STIs. The doctor ruled out STDs
and STIs after hearing my sexual history but but I tested anyway for
HIV, Syphylis and hepatitis B all negative. After a few days of his
medication, the initial throbbing pain was much lower but had not gone
away completely. I saw another MD after about 2 weeks who ordered
doxycycline for 3 weeks after ruling out tuberculosis through tests.
By this time I still had a mild pain and heaviness in testicles which
got worse on sitting making it difficult to sit beyond half an hour.
He then referred me to a urological surgeon who did a rectal exam and
declared mild prostatitis. He then prescribed banocide forte and
levofloxacin for 1o days followed by xocam for 1o days and then
septran sulpha drug for 1o days. During this period he also did 6
sessions of prostrate massages with a gap of 2 to 3 days each. By this
time I also started to have split stream and weaker than normal urine
stream and would feel that the bladder wasn’t emptying completely
after urinating. After this treatment, my initial pain and testicular
heaviness had come down by about 6o% but has not ended fully. Its
almost been 1 years now and the doctor says that my prostatitis will
get better with time and prescribes frequent ejaculation and lots of
sex!
I now have the following problems:
Discomfort and pain in pelvis on sitting, especially on soft seats and
while travelling.
A general fatigue.
Frequently a sense of heaviness and inflammation in the penis,
testicles, and prostrate especially after sitting continuously for a
long time. The doctor says that there is no real swelling of the
testicles or penis.
On ejaculation, some of the semen does not freely come out and only
gradually comes out completely. The semen that comes out last is also
more viscous.
Frequency of urination goes up towards evening after sitting all day
due to my mostly desk job. All symptoms of pain are almost 95% better
every morning after a good nights sleep and keep getting worse as the
day goes on.

My questions are as follows:
I am soon planning to get married. Can my prostrate infection spread
to my would be wife through sexual contact.
Will my illness get better over time on its own or is there any more
treatment options worth exploring.
Is my fertility permanently damaged because of this. Will I be able to
have biological kids of my own.
I understand that prostratic injections are providing complete cure to
some patients in US. Being done by Dr. Bahn and yourself. Do you
or anyone else does this in India or is there any other treatment.

Would be highly obliged if you could answer my queries urgently as i
am hopelessly depressed due to these problems.

Warm regards,
Vinay
