The symptoms you're describing are very nonspecific. Lots of things can cause them and I would put bladder cancer low on that list. Yes, they could be caused by prostatitis. Has your husband seen a urologist?

It still sounds like acute prostatitis. Any cultures, urine cytology, and/or cystoscopy?
Any input from a gastroenterologist? Any history of irritable bowel, colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, appendicitis?
