Hi Lisa,

Welcome. Can you tell us about your interest in prostatitis? Do you know someone who has it? Do you work with prostatitis patients?

Thank you.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for clarifying. You may want to update your profile with some of that content in case others read it and want to comment. You can do that through the Settings tab in the upper right.

The symptoms you're describing are very nonspecific. Lots of things can cause them and I would put bladder cancer low on that list. Yes, they could be caused by prostatitis. Has your husband seen a urologist?

It still sounds like acute prostatitis. Any cultures, urine cytology, and/or cystoscopy?

Any input from a gastroenterologist? Any history of irritable bowel, colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, appendicitis?

Since I am not your husband's doctor and have not examined him, I am in absolutely no position to give him advice. However, your questions are all on target and you can certainly suggest to your husband that he ask his doctors.

You're welcome. I hope he gets better soon.
