I saw you comments regarding the side effects you have experienced due to antibiotics. I have not experienced any type of kidney issues but prior to my LRP surgery I took on and off heavy doses of antiboiotics for 25 years. In fact, very often I took as many as 3 antibiotics at the same time. The side effects were brutal particularly on my digestive tract. I actually did not know how badly I was being effected until after I had the surgery. Since the surgery, I have not taken any antibiotics and I feel like a new person with no digestive issues and all sorts of energy. From personal experience, I would recommend against heavy or long term use of antibiotics for the treatment of prostatitis. If antibiotics do not work in the first few months or year to eliminate prostatitis, they are probably not going to work in the long run. In other words, based on my experience antibiotics do not cure chronic prostatis.
