Prostatitis Forum & Social Network

Acute and chronic prostatitis discussion. Arnon Krongrad, MD, moderator.

Prostatitis symptoms may include lower urinary tracts symptoms (LUTS). A study from Korea has found that these symptoms may respond to anticholinergic medication when given in addition to ciprofloxacin antibiotic (click here).

The abstract does not provide a quantification of the response to anticholinergic medication. The study was conducted over 8 weeks and does not provide clues about durability of response after 8 weeks.

Have you been treated with anticholinergic medications for prostatitis, e.g. Ditropan, Detrol?

If so, how did your symptoms respond?
