If you have been diagnosed with prostatitis, please tell us your story: age, duration of symptoms, treatments, results, and the like.
I am 29 and I was diagnosed with E.coli Bacterial infection in my urine 1.5 years back and I was under antibiotic therapy for 2 weeks and became normal.
2 months back again I got the same symptoms and this time the symptoms were sever, I have to wake up at least 5 times in the night and also had pain in my abdomen. I went to an urologist, he did urine test with culture and there is no bacteria found in the test report.
He told me it is Prostatitis and he prescribed me 'ciprofloxacin' for 4 weeks, there was not even 1% improvement after taking the tablets 4 weeks. I went to the same urologist again explained him the problems and he prescribed 4 weeks of 'sulfamethoxazole tmp ds', this helped a little bit and not completely.
