Antibiotic advice

I just came off of a twenty two day antibiotic treatment for bacterial prostatitis, which involved taking Zithromax, Levaquin and Sulfatrim .
I was supposed to be on these antibiotics for 60 days, but I became very sick due to the side effects and had to stop.
My prostatitis showed signs of improvement, so I would like to try this again.
Are there any antibiotics that I can take for this that are not in the family of the three drugs I mentioned, that are as effective, but will not cause the same kind of violent reaction?
I remember taking amoxicillin as a kid and never having any reactions at all, so I can take antibiotics, but finding some choices other than the ones I mentioned is proving to be difficult.
Any help would be appreciated.

Till now I have taken antibiotics on regular basis. .my bacteria is very resistant ..I have taken iv injection s many times. .for the last 1 and half years. .I m taking antibiotics. .but I don't get much relief. .it just don't go away..I m really fed up and lost all hope of any cure..I have tried ayurvedic homepathic treatment. .but all had failed till now. .leaving only lrp the last choice. .I m unmarried. Unless I get married and complete my family. .I have to bear it..the problem with disease .is once it becomes chronic its not going to go..I suggest u to take iv antibiotics .. .there is nothing much anyone can do..everybody is fed up..and life is miserable 24 7...u can try some more antibiotics. .it will help but ..not remove this disease. my experience has been bad..very bad..and severity increases daily. .its really mentally emotionally devastating condition. .people are ready to do anything to get rid of it..but the price we will pay is very costly. .lrp..

Wow supantha, I am so sorry for your situation, and obviously I hope I have a better experience.  I am in the states where they have several doctors trying antibiotic cocktail injections directly into the prostate.  The anecdotal experience seems good, even where some claim they have been cured, but they sure don't have clinical trials on it, and it takes several injections spread out.

They have things less drastic then lrp, such as TURP, but the results are very mixed, and the possible side-effects are not anything I would want to risk, at least not at this stage.  I sure don't want to make my current situation worse than it is.

Don't give up supantha.  I know this is depressing as hell, and there is no question you are going through a lot of torment, but don't give up.

Some stories I have read indicate that the persistence of the infection could be due to structural abnormalities, and they have had corrective procedures.

I would suggest you to stay away from the prostate injection...at best it would improve temporary your condition but it can also make it much worse...this is exactly my experience: I did one of those injection and it took me one full year to recover to where I was before.
Moreover after the injection ecoli starts to show up (urine culture after prostate massage), before the injection I was always negative....honnestly this injection treatment is not a cure.
As suphanta said, you better think of IV antibiotics, at least if it doesnt work it would not harm your prostate...this has worked for me so far, the only thing is that after all these antibiotics treatment the bacteria might become resistant ( this is my case).
I fully agree with you about the structural abnormality, in my particular case a bladder neck sclerosis seems to be a possible cause.

Thanks jeffos, I was only relating to things I have read, definitely not endorsing it.  The posts I have read concerning it were favorable from a doctor "Duke" Bahn, who does it in Ventura, California.  There are all kinds disclaimers, and saying you should only do it as a last resort.

Jeffos, one more thing, I certainly subscribe to your philosophy that one should not make a bad situation worse if at all possible.
