I've had prostatitis for 5 years and I am curently 35 yrs old. At first the pain wasn't that bad. but it progressed over the year and became worse over time in fact it became so bad I contemplated suicide .  I saw various doctors. most believed that my symptoms were a figment of my imagination.  though they would always send me away with some antibiotic. I saw a total of eight different urologist over five yr period. the antibiotics never really did me any good. ocasionaly an antibiotic…

the end of 25 years of suffering!

Got called up for the army physical in 1967 and amazingly flunked the exam due to puss in my urine, which I never knew I had. No pain, no discomfort just puss. It saved me  from the horrible war in Vietnam. That was the first sign of things to come.  Fast forward six years, after some experimenting with cocaine and grass, terrible itching in the groin which no one could figure out. It was only years later I attributed it to my intolerance to grass and other party drugs to which I was never…

Ejaculatory Duct Causing pain

Dr. Krongrad can EDO cause pain similar to prostatis? I have had typical prostatitis symtoms for 2 years. I have recently had a TRUS that showed a calcification in the verma area that appeared to be in the ED. Also on the same side it showed a dilated ED .65cm in the area that it enters the prostate. Could this be causing all of my pain? How difficult is the to treat?

Bowel Movements and CP

Has anyone with CP had painful bowel movements associated with it? Also, has it gone away after the surgery?

More prostate injections

Well, I have had 3 prostatic injections by Dr. Bahn so far approximately 10-14 days apart.  I did not have any significant improvement after the first 2 but I have noticed some improvement after the 3rd.  Also, we have seen improvements in the ultrasound.  I had an enlarged left lobe and a bulbous and distended right seminal vesicle (vesiculitis).  Now, the blood flow has increased in the left lobe and the lesion is much smaller, about a 50% improvement according to Dr. Bahn.   The right SV…

Chronic Prostatitis

I just became a member on this site and have reviewed some of the information on the site. I had chronic prostatitis when I was in my late 30's and several anti-biotics were tried with zero effect. I had the problem for about 2-1/2 years when in about a 2 day period, it just cleared up by itself. Now almost 20 years later, I've gotten it again after a 3 month bout with epidydimitis. I was on Cipro for 30 days. So, for about 7 months in total I've had some kind of prostate pain with no other… Continue

Journaling

I've decided to keep an online journal here of what's going on since I've really failed over the last year to keep track of everything. Today my husband called the urologist and asked if there was an appointment sooner than the 18th and there was. TODAY! They decided to fit him in this afternoon.  We get to the office and a panic attack sets in. A very real and physical panic attack complete with fainting, chills, shaking, and tingling sensations throughout his limbs. The same thing happened…

My husband's words on the issue:

Right now, this is the extent of what my husband can think of to say about his current pain and suffering:

"In this world, there are one of two things that can go seriously wrong with your health. It can either be chronic or terminal. One flat-out kills you, the other tortures you until you die. Right now, if I have to have one or the other, I wish it wasn't the chronic one."

First entry

I decided to join this site, if for anything else, to just be able to talk about this in a community that might understand. My husband, Paul, has been suffering from severe symptoms of Chronic Prostatitis since around the end of November, 2009.  His old GP recognized the symptoms right away and referred him to a urologist who then officially diagnosed him with CP. He has only done medication treatments and one massage session. I know little to nothing about medical terminology and CP even…

Frustration with prostatitis

Here I have had another day of fluctuating and moving pain. Today has been primarily anal pain, along with some frequency. The worst part is I have had a headache for 5 days now. Stress? Anxiety? Weather? Prostatitis? Who knows. I have also been having random, short-lived temperature spikes (99.5 +) with heavy sweating. No idea what that is either, but I would bet it is the prostatitis as well.

I happened to also have an appt with my primary doctor, who I greatly respect, and we… Continue

Medicine covered?

I have had this problem for quite some time now and am worried that my medicine will not be covered by my short term health insurance plan I have. I am wondering how I would know if this is covered and if anyone else here would have any comments or suggestions.

SIX MONTHS AFTER LRP SURGERY FOR CHRONIC PROSTATITIS

Today July 29, 2009 made it exactly six months I had LRP procedure done by Dr. Krongrad. My CPSI is now one from 38 before surgery. The debilitating pain and general weakness I had before surgery is total gone. I do not take any more antibiotics or Tramadol 50mg twice a day for prostate inflamation or pain because LRP took care of it. I am now back to running two miles every other day with out any urine stress incontinence. I have control of my bladder without urine leakage. Although… Continue
